Haley Rubin of Brandon, S.D., 212-181. They came out on top against 588 other top high school bowlers from across the country.
So which brand in the bowling industry has the best bowling team? Well, there's only one way to find out. The International Bowling Campus Youth Development team will hold a corporate tournament to benefit the Youth Education Services (YES) Fund during Bowl Expo in Reno, Nev. The inaugural YES Corporate Cup is scheduled for Monday, June 25 from 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the one-of-a-kind National Bowling Stadium (pictured left). The cost is $5,000 per brand.
Abingdon High School in Abingdon, Ill., has been selected to receive a $2,500 grant through the Youth Education Services (YES) Fund High School Grant Program. After more than a 15-year absence, Abingdon revived its once-successful bowling program this season. The high school had won state titles in girls bowling in 1973, 1976 and 1979, but the program ended in the 1990s. A student survey showed overwhelming support to bring back the sport. 
A fire in the early hours of Dec. 24 destroyed Charlie's Country Fun bowling center in Biggsville, Ill. The 10-lane center, which opened in 1978, was the home to the West Central High School bowling team. The Bowling Foundation and the Youth Education Services (YES) Fund already have sent the team new bowling balls to help offset the loss.
With a double in the 10th frame, 18-year-old Zack Hattori (l.) of Las Vegas clinched the richest scholarship prize in bowling history to conclude the 14th annual Teen Masters bowling championships presented by Ebonite at Grand Central Terminal Thursday. Hattori defeated 16-year-old Rachel Vaughn (r.) of Port St. Lucie, Fla., 190-184 and 207-178, to win the best-of-two-game championship match and lock up a four-year, $64,000 scholarship package.
Nicole Mosesso (pictured), the Alberta E. Crowe Star of Tomorrow Award winner, leads the list of 10 high school bowlers selected for the 2010-11 Dexter/United States Bowling Congress High School All-American Team. Each student-athlete receives a $1,000 scholarship and an All-America
Team award, which will be presented at the 2011 USBC Junior
Gold Championships in Las Vegas in July.
High school teams now have access to top bowling equipment through a new grant program administered by the Youth Education Services (YES) Fund. The program allows entire high school teams to apply for new bowling gear. In order to qualify for the Students Equipped to Strike (S.E.T.S.) grant program, at least one member of the team must demonstrate an economic need for assistance.
Dexter Bowling and the United States Bowling Congress have agreed on a partnership that will keep Dexter as the exclusive title sponsor of the USBC High School All-American Team. The three-year agreement also includes Dexter's sponsorship of the USBC Coach/Player Luncheon at the Intercollegiate Team Championships. Dexter has been the official sponsor of the USBC High School All-American Team since 2005-06. Dexter Bowling also will sponsor the USBC Coach/Player Luncheon at the ITC.
Five students have been selected to receive a USBC Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarship based on their community service and academic achievements. Each of the USBC bowlers will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Four of the recipients are recent high school graduates, while the other is a first-year college student. The Earl Anthony Memorial Scholarships are presented in honor of
legendary bowling professional Earl Anthony, one of the great
ambassadors of the sport who was dedicated to helping youth bowlers.
